Lip micropigmentation

Micropigmentation, or permanent make-up, is a technique in which pigments are implanted at the level of the epidermis.

It is used to enhance, balance or correct facial features. It is also used to correct damage caused by aggressive medical treatments, such as chemotherapy, or genetic cosmetic defects.

Micropigmentation has no side effects of any kind. The pigments used are hypoallergenic and fully compatible with the body. However, allergies must be taken into account and a small pigment test should be done before micropigmentation, especially with red shades for lip micropigmentation.

The areas that can be micropigmented, and the most popular, are eyebrows, lips and eyes. It is also now done on areas such as the areolas and the scalp, to correct stretch marks and even dark circles.

Depending on the area chosen, the session can last between 1 h 30 min and 3 h 30 min.

It is advisable not to sunbathe or use sunbeds, and not to go to the pool or very humid places, for about 20 days after the session. During those days we will use a healing cream to help the skin.

It lasts about 2 years, so some touch-ups are needed from time to time, and it depends on several factors, such as the client’s skin type, the colour of the pigment used, sun exposure and the type of make-up worn every day. This is actually an advantage, as we can adapt the shade of the pigment to each client’s aesthetic changes over time.

Micropigmentation uses very fine needles, which makes the technique less painful. A local anaesthetic is also applied to avoid discomfort in the most sensitive areas.
